SHOWCAST was founded in 2005 as an online community by the current managing director as an English limited company. At that time, the business model was a business network, which was to be financed through micro payments (payment for campaigns) and advertising cooperation. Although the number of members grew quickly, the critical mass was not reached to be able to run the business successfully. The current service developed on the basis of direct booking requests. In 2009, SHOWCAST had almost 4.000 registered members. As of today, the number of applicants is 72.000. SHOWCAST is one of the largest model files in Germany and one of the first model agencies in the world that was able to map the services of a model agency via web processes. The processes developed in the past distinguish SHOWCAST from all other model agencies in Germany.
